Hello, I'm Alfonso Gaudelli, an 18-year-old footballer and goalkeeper coach with a deep passion for the game that has shaped my life.
My football journey began with Brighton & Hove Albion, where I developed my skills, and continued at Aldershot Town FC, where, as a U15 player, I competed at the U18 level. These formative experiences not only helped me grow as a player but also taught me invaluable lessons about hard work, leadership, and resilience.
In 2022, I had the privilege of captaining Aldershot Town FC U15s on a successful tour, leading the team to victory. This experience highlighted my leadership skills and determination to excel both on and off the pitch. However, my journey has not been without its challenges.
During the 2022/23 season, I faced a difficult period after suffering a concussion injury. While my ability as a goalkeeper was never in doubt, the injury took a toll on my mental well-being and led to me temporarily falling out of love with football. I took time away from the game to focus on my mental health, seeking the help of a psychologist to navigate this challenging time. That break was crucial in allowing me to regain my passion and love for football, and I’m proud to say that I’ve since returned stronger than ever. I began the 2024/25 season at westfield U18 and trained regularly with the first team, unfortunately due to pulling my groin and hip flexor I was out for 3 months and recently returned back to playing for a local side.
My love for the game has also transitioned into coaching, where I’m dedicated to developing young goalkeepers. I previously served as the head goalkeeper coach for ages 7-13 at Woking Town, and now I run four specialized sessions each week. On Tuesdays, I coach at Meadows Sport; Wednesdays are dedicated to my own private session; on Thursdays, I lead as the head coach for Woking District; and Fridays are reserved for my advanced session, tailored for elite, aspiring pro goalkeepers. My coaching philosophy centers on fostering resilience, technical mastery, and a winning mindset—qualities I’ve developed through my own football journey.
As an experienced goalkeeper and coach, I’ve founded a business dedicated to providing young keepers with the tools, guidance, and support they need to excel. The success I’ve had with my goalkeepers so far speaks to the impact I’ve made, and I look forward to helping more players reach their full potential.
